SUNDAY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Nursery

First Congregational UCC provides a staffed nursery for babies and children up to 3 years of age. The nursery is typically open 20 minutes before the start of the service.

Ages 3-4

For children 3 and 4 years of age we have a curriculum which is geared toward this age group.

For Kindergarten - 8th grade students we are beginning a workshop rotation model of Sunday school in which the youth rotate to different stations each Sunday. This is based on research that people learn best when all senses are "tapped". During the rotation, only one Bible story is taught. Each week the focus is placed of a different learning style.

WRM works, as it is an experimental, multi-modal approach to teaching and learning. Studies have shown that a hands on approach to teaching that utilizes all modes of learning (i.e., visual, kinesthetic, auditory, increases interest which increases learning and retention.)
