			Board of Deacons
			Deacons share a responsibility for nourishing the faith, fellowship, and worship life of the congregation. The Board is broken down into four smaller committees-focusing on Worship, Fellowship, Evangelism, and Pastoral Care. Deacons help the pastors administer the sacraments; provide spiritual care to shut-ins, sometimes; they find substitute preachers when the pastors are away, and help to coordinate Women's and Men's Sundays. They may help direct church celebrations in Fellowship Hall throughout the year, and are responsible for accepting new candidates into church membership. Our evening Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday services are coordinated by the Deacons. Ordinarily, the Deacons meet on the first Thursday evening of every month at 8:00 p.m. in our church library.
